Jankovic advances with ease

JELENA Jankovic, the No.3 seed from Serbia, eased into the second round of the French Open with a 7-6 (7-3) 6-2 victory over lucky loser Monica Niculescu from Romania. The 23-year-old will next meet either Tathiana Garbin from Italy or Marina Erakovic from New Zealand for a place in the third round as she plans to make the most of the shock retirement of Justine Henin, the winner at Roland Garros for the past three years.
